British Camp

I follow the same footsteps
Where my father walked
Too steep for him now
As we tread alone
On shared broken paths
Breathe in clean air
The nods and hellos to strangers and their dogs
Under the huge sky of water colour blue
Views across counties
Centuries unchanged
Shaded by the orange of Autumnal bracken.
